Frequently Asked Questions

These are some common questions we get asked about our Padel experience.

1. Do I need to be a skilled Padel player to join the retreat?

Not at all. The Padel Retreat is mixed skill and all levels are welcome! Our focus is on community-organized matches and fun, inclusive play. We ensure everyone finds partners and games at their preferred level.

2. Are professional coaching or clinics included?

The retreat focuses on community play and court access, not formal coaching. We facilitate in-house skill-swap sessions, but any professional lessons or clinics you want would be an optional extra which we can help you arrange with local coaches.

3. Is equipment (rackets, balls) provided?

We recommend bringing your own Padel racket if you play regularly, but rental options are widely available at the local clubs. We can direct you to nearby facilities for affordable rental and purchase.

4. What is the vibe of the community?

The vibe is active, friendly, and community-focused. Guests are typically digital nomads or long-term travellers who value a healthy work-life balance. You can expect spontaneous activities, communal dinners, and an environment that fosters genuine connection.

5. Why is the retreat offered during the shoulder season?

Hosting during the shoulder season (between peak and off-peak times) provides our guests with significant benefits, including lower prices on accommodation and activities, and a quieter, less tourist-packed Cape Town. This allows for a more relaxed and authentic experience of the Mother City.
