We invite all our guests to join the WhatsApp group during (and leading up to) their stay as it helps everyone in the house stay connected and makes communication so much easier!
Please take note of our standard check-in and checkout times below.
Check-in: 3 pm
Checkout: 11 am
Should these not work with your travel plans, be sure to organise alternative times with our team BEFORE your arrival. We do try our best to accommodate you if possible. It is always a great idea to send your flight number to the community manager.
International SIM cards are sometimes not great for the inland regions of South Africa but seem great for Cape Town. If you plan on doing a lot of travel within South Africa, I would recommend getting a Vodacom SIM card. This can be done at the airport, just after the exit of international arrivals.
Uber or any of the taxi kiosks at the airport exit are good to use. I normally get an Uber. Walk out the left exit past Woolworths and follow the people, it is also well signposted as the ‘e-hailing pickup point’.
Please use this gate as your entrance and exit. There is a bell for Uber or anyone to ring.
A breakage deposit of R5 500 to be paid on arrival, returnable 10 business days after your stay. If you break something, please try to replace it.

A good rule of thumb in South Africa is not to walk at night or alone in the evenings. Greenpoint is quite safe but you still need to take precautions not to be a target of crime here. Unemployment and desperation are quite high, and street children or beggars may approach you for a handout, or carry out opportunistic crimes. To combat this, the City of Cape Town has stationed public safety officers throughout the city bowl and has in-depth tips on their website.
When hiking in the mountains, always do it in groups, as there has been an increase in crime on it over the last few years. There are some great hiking groups you can join on Facebook or WhatsApp, ask the community manager if you need links!
Please help yourself to tea, coffee, condiments, fruit in the common areas, and anything on the Community Shelves in the kitchen pantry and fridge. Please remember to label your stuff or put it in your sections if you don’t want it eaten by confused individuals, labels are on the fridge.
Your linen and towels should be replaced once a week but if you need fresh ones please ask the house cleaner or community manager on site.
Please keep the noise down after 10 pm during the week and 11 pm on the weekend. No guests after this time – unless cleared in the group chat. We not only want to be good to our community but to those around us.
Keep the doors and windows closed on the hot days to keep the house cool. Kitchen door is best left closed too, to keep kritters out.

Dishwasher is unpacked on weekdays, so let’s try to add our dishes to it every day. Try to keep the sink clear of dishes and the kitchen clean.

We do stay in a safe area but do not walk home at night. And when walking to some places, walk with someone.
If you’d prefer not to walk, some good transport options include: Uber and Bolt (popular ride-hailing services in Cape Town), and MyCiTi Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) offers a convenient public transportation option. Most tourists (and many locals) opt for Uber as its really affordable here.
