FAQs About Surf-Based Stays in Cape Town

1. Do I Need Prior Surfing Experience?

No, there are beginner-friendly surfing spots and lessons to learn how to surf.

2. What Should I Pack for a Surfing Retreat in Cape Town?

Pack as you normally would for any other  trip to Cape Town: Prepare for all conditions, layers are important, jackets, windbreakers, etc. For a surf-based stay, you’d want to bring a wetsuit, thick enough for Cape Town’s freezing waters, a rash vest, reef-safe sunscreen, and surf wax. You can rent surfboards or any other surf-related items if you wish.

3. Are Surfboards and Wetsuits Provided?

Cape Co-living does not provide surfing equipment, but there are places that sell and rent everything you need in and around popular surf spots.
